Charlie and I realised with shock that it had been over two months since our last cream tea. This was unacceptable so despite the pouring rain we ventured out…
…and arrived at Goodnestone Park Gardens. The drive through the beautiful countryside was lovely and even before we arrived we decided to return on a sunnier day!
When we stepped in to the pretty cafe we were impressed by the huge range of cakes available. So much so that we didn’t go for a cream tea (shock, horror!). Instead we opted for a slice chocolate cake and a slice of lemon cake. Both were delicious (Harry can attest to this as he got to try both!).
The cakes were perfect for brightening up a rainy day – we particularly liked the mis-matched cups and saucers!
We’re looking forward to going back and visiting the gardens next time.
So here are the scores:
Value for money 8/10
Total: 33/40 83%
N.B don’t worry, we’ll be back to cream teas for our next outing!
